How both may have been shunned by their families, but Joseph stepped up like a man and took his beloved Mary for his wife. How they walked to Bethlehem together. Despite tradition, I’m sure young Joseph couldn’t afford a donkey.
How Joseph lay down his tunic for his bride-to-be and there on the dirty floor of a manure-stinking barn delivered God’s own son. Can you think of a more lowly birth for the King of heaven and earth? What a picture to show that Jesus came not to be served but to serve. Only the Creator God could imagine such a birth.
Christmas is our time to rejoice, worship, and give. Let us make the most of the time until The One born so lowly comes again—only when He returns, He will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in all His splendor and glory.

AN IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE Can Lady Cailin keep her vow to make her marriage happy and successful, unlike that of her parents, or must she arrange for the Duke's accidental death?

Hi Anne, thank you for being here today. Whenever I'm asked this question, I have to confess that I had a marriage proposal on Christmas day (and the ring) so that has to be my best Christmas gift.
ReplyDeleteThat's a gift you cannot ever forget. How very sweet.
DeleteI think I get my best Christmas gift each year I get to be with ALL my kids together. That's rare now, with two of them living in other states.
ReplyDeleteI love having my whole family with me at Christmas. It was not always that way. So that is indeed one of the best gifts we receive.
DeleteAnne - thanks for the wonderful post, so timely. You know, when I think of the best Christmas gifts, material items don't come to mind. Instead it is memories of people I love. Some, like my mom, are in heaven now and those memories are so special.
ReplyDeleteThis brings tears to my eyes as well. So many people we will meet in Heaven. Thanks Terri for the thought.
DeleteThis sounds like another stellar read, Anne. Congrats on your release. My Christmas memories are of family and singing in choir concerts.
ReplyDeleteYes, singing is one of my highlights as well. Our concert was delayed this year because of the big ice storm in Texas. However, we will be singing in a few weeks, just a few days before Christmas. I love this time of year!
DeleteThis is such a beautiful blog. I really enjoy visiting here!
